Wil-Spec, LLC provides comprehensive specification writing services to architects from schematic design through construction bidding. Depending on services required by an architect, Wil-Spec has the capacity to review drawings, assist with coordination of documents, help select building materials, provide design solutions for technical problems, and advise on bidding and contract procedures.
We are a unique firm in our approach to specification services. Typically, we function in a workgroup format with two specifiers normally involved on each project. This provides continuity through the project process for communications. It also permits us to have a quality assurance process with checks and balances of our own work.
Our prepared specifications are customized to reflect your office's standard practices. Even page formatting can be customized to you or your client's needs. As a relationship with each of our clients grows, we modify our masters with proper notation so that you will see continuity of your firm's product and language preferences between different projects.
As a service feature, we review drawings, offer material/product suggestions and assist with coordination between consulting trades. If we find questionable detailing, or a poor choice of material, we will discuss those issues with your team. Also, as part of our standard service, we issue format information to other consultants and receive their final specifications here. Except for fast-tracked projects, we typically review consultant sections to ensure they are coordinated with our work.
